about
This song was recorded during the sessions for our upcoming record, Sundogs Dancing In The Early Morning Light. In fact, the title of the record was taken from a line in this song. Vinyl has its time constraints and this song was cut from the record, but we believe it to by every bit as good as the batch of 13 that will be on the vinyl release.

LYRICS
I was standing on your front porch in the rain
As the applause fell down around me, I began to feel the sting
Said, "listen close and hear a lonely little heart as it breaks"
Then I wandered West to work the fields you find by old Eufaula Lake
I used to fight, but the shots felt cheap
Begged forgiveness, but the price was steep
And I was certain you'd be hurtin'
I steer the SS Odd Man Out
When I met you, you'd seen nothing but your two-story town
A little too high for looking up, wild enough to burn it down
You can call me crazy, guess I'm no different from those other fools
Who simply should've walked away, but ran right up to you
What can I do?
I used to run, but I couldn't get far
I's bouncing prayers off dark and distant, dying stars
With the knowing you'd be going
I steer the SS Odd Man Out
Sinking down in the mud by the Clinch River side
Sundogs dancing in the early morning light
I wandered countless oceans, their only difference was in name
Every one just put me further to the home from which I came
I steer the SS Odd Man Out
